Homey Kortrijk is located in an authentic mansion (dating from before 1850) in the heart of the center city of Kortrijk, West Flanders. Just next to the renewed and lowered Leieboorden, the Broel Towers and the historic city center, the train station, the shopping area, the future new subtropic swimming paradise and the Grote Markt, each time less than 5 minutes walk. (Public) parking can be found cheap and close within a few minutes walking.

3 guest studios

3 guest studios (with kitchen) were built on the roof (floor 2). As a couple on citytrip, visitor of one of the many trade fairs in KortrijkXpo or as a businessman / woman who is for business in town for a few days ... you feel like at home in the studios that were each finished in high quality and furnished with a great sense of interior and aesthetics. You will find the comfort and privacy of a holiday home, the services of a hotel and the cosiness & homeliness of an authentic B & B.

The studios have their own kitchen. Sleep heavenly on the mattress of local sleeping partner www.Ergodôme.be, hand made from natural materials in their workshops in Kortrijk. Each has its own bathroom, the studio under the ridge with bath. Each accommodation has a fantastic view over the roofs of Kortrijk with a view of the oldest high-rise building in the city, the White Residence, the Sint-Michiels Church at the rear, the Sint-Maartenskerk somewhat in the distance and the new ultra-modern K-Tower at Buda-Beach.

Sustainable and economical use of energy was central. A roof full of solar panels, a solar water heater for hot water and heat pumps with which the studios are heated in the winter or cooled in the summer.

You get access through a code system. You do not have to meet with us as host. No pressure, no rush ... just pretend you're at home. Our tips and advice about nice hotspots and must-do's in Kortrijk? Living room for meetings, brainstorms, board meetings, ...

In the authentic living room, under the ceiling painting, up to 14 people (in a round table setting) or up to 20 (in a theater setting) can meet. Efficient meetings supported by an HD monitor or flipchart. Brainstorm or organize a workshop. You name it. It is also here that the guests of Homey can have breakfast if desired.

Homey still has several hidden possibilities. Breakout sessions at various locations in the house, a sandwich lunch or an aperitif ... we look forward to working with you to fulfill your wishes and needs.

The authentic livings of this static mansion lend themselves perfectly to meet in a classy yet cozy atmosphere. In a closed environment and with great privacy. A board of directors, a brainstorming session, a meeting with customers or partners or a workshop? Much is possible.
To be rented separately. You do not have to stay as a guest in Homey.

Capacity: up to 14 people in round table setting and up to 20 people in theater style.
Price: EUR 95 / half day + EUR 5 / person (including coffee / water / tea and sweets / savory) (excluding VAT)

The location

Authentic mansion in the heart of Kortrijk

The Homey guest studios were built on the roof of an authentic mansion, dating from before 1850. The house has a rich history and had some public functions. The best known is the restaurant Tartuffe that spoiled many Kortrijkzanen culinary. But also The Relation, a nightclub where one could go after the typical T-Dansant at the time, many remember.

Anyone who has stories or information (or maybe even photo material) about Kasteelstraat 6, can send it to hello@homey-kortrijk.be. We will be happy to work with it later on.

The house has also served as offices during our first steps as entrepreneurs. We first stripped it completely and renovated it with respect for what was authentic but added a modern touch to it. Photos from then and now can be found on Facebook and Instagram. From 2009 until mid 2016 our first company Het Opzet was located in our current bedroom. Until the moment that the impact of our 5 colleagues on our family life became too big ;-)

We have always dreamed of letting others enjoy the authenticity and uniqueness of the house. With Homey we realize this partly. And who knows what is to follow ...

Homey is a short walk from the station with many connections to Ghent, Lille or Bruges. The street ends at the bottom of the Leie which crosses Kortrijk. A bit further you come across the Broel Towers and you can enjoy the recently lowered Leieboorden, aka the Kortrijkse Graslei. After 2 minutes walking you will find yourself in the middle of the Grote Markt which is adjacent to the shopping area with the many local hero's retailers and the 30,000 m² shopping center K in Kortrijk. You will also be charmed by the historic center with beguinage.

About us

Julie & Maarten. A team that realizes their dreams.

Hi, we are Julie and Maarten. Born in 1980. A dream team. But especially a team that dreams and realizes dreams.
We got to know each other during our law studies in Kortrijk. And now quietly realize every project that we have ever dreamed of. Unfortunately we have a few ;-) ... Our shared passion for authentic buildings brought us to the purchase and renovation of the mansion where now Homey is also located. Many weekends and evenings to renovate and finish. About 10 years. And in the meantime we also realized 3 kids ;-) ... Annabel, Josefien and Xander.

Both of us have the feeling that we already have a well-filled career. Maarten as manager at logistics company Katoen Natie and a full-service event agency. And then as town center manager of Kortrijk and founder / manager of our own company Het Opzet, which merged with Joyn in 2016. Julie as a lawyer and staff member at the Flemish Government. Love for creation, baking delicacies, receiving people and pampering culinary drifted her towards a diploma as a baker but also as a cook at Spermalie. And since the beginning of 2018 we have been building together again our second company www.wearewisely.com, active in destination marketing and smart city.

And now also Homey.

Booking terms and conditions

Reservation and cancellation conditions

At reservation, 100% of the total amount will be collected.

A mandatory tourist tax (paid directly to the city council) and a mandatory cost for guarantee, consumption mini-bar and any additional services ordered during stay by the guest, will be charged immediately upon reservation. This last cost will be refunded within 48 hours after check-out, subject to deduction of the real cost of damaged or missing items, consumptions of the mini-bar and ordered services by the guest, in each case in accordance with the price list to be consulted in advance.

In case of cancellation more than 7 calendar days (ie 168 hours) for the possible check in hour of the stay (15:00), 100% of all paid amounts will be refunded.

In case of cancellation between 7 calendar days (ie 168 hours) and 2 calendar days (ie 48 hours) for the possible check-in hour of the stay (15:00), 30% of the total stay cost will remain due. Paid extras such as tourist tax, guarantee, breakfast etc are fully refundable.

In case of cancellation less than 2 calendar days (ie 48 hours) for the possible check-in hour of the stay (15:00) or in case of no-show, 100% of the total cost will remain, except for the tourist tax and the cost of guarantee , consumption mini-bar and extra services.

Cancellations should be done via e-mail to hello@homey-kortrijk.be with subject 'cancellation' followed by your reference number.

Terms and conditions

The following Terms and Conditions apply to all bookings made on this website.

1. Definitions

  • “Homey" is owned by Jumaaco BVBA and is located at Kasteelstraat 6, 8500 Kortrijk, Belgium. VATnr: BE 0669.526.464
  • “Booking” means the booking for accommodation, functions and/or any other services or items made with us.
  • “Contract” means the Booking and these Terms, and any other terms and conditions stated to apply to the Booking.
  • “Terms” means these terms and conditions.
  • “Websites” means www.homey-kortrijk.be
  • "VAT” means value added tax or “BTW’ in Dutch.

2. Bookings

All Bookings at Homey-Kortrijk are subject to these Terms.

At the time of booking or at check-in, we will take your credit/debit card details and you authorise the use of this card for any sums that become owing to us.  We shall also have the right to require full payment in advance or a deposit at the time of booking in certain circumstances or if the Booking includes the supply of certain items or services.  No Booking shall be treated as confirmed until the details and/or payment/deposit described in this paragraph have been provided.

3. Charges

The prices displayed on the Websites are an average per night per person until a rate is selected.  Any service or VAT are included only if specified.  A minimum length of stay, deposit, cancellation charge and other conditions may apply to certain rates, as specified.  Once a rate is selected on the website, the total for your requested stay shall be displayed on the reservation summary.  Prices shall be charged in euro.

The VAT breakdown shown is indicative based on the current rate of VAT, and the expected VAT treatment of the goods or services.  VAT will be payable at the prevailing rate applicable at the tax point of the invoice or Booking confirmation issued, and may change depending on the actual rate and the VAT treatment of the goods and services purchased at that date.

Price lists for additional items are available on request or in Homey.

4. Check-in/ Check-out Time

In the interests of security and to prevent fraud, after booking, guests may be required to confirm their identity by providing their booking reference and their passport/identity card/driving licence.  If guests are travelling from outside of the Schengen Area we are also obliged by law to require guests to provide the number and place of issue of your passport/identity card and details of their next destination. These records will be kept for at least 12 months and may be disclosed or made available for inspection by any police officer or as otherwise required by applicable law in connection with the prevention or investigation of crime.  The information above may be requested for each member of your party over the age of 16 and we reserve the right to refuse entry to persons who cannot provide the information set out above.

Unless otherwise stated on the booking confirmation, Guests may check-in at any time from 15.00 p.m. on the scheduled day of arrival.  All rooms that have been secured by credit/debit card or prepaid at the time of booking will he held until 11:59 p.m. on the scheduled day of arrival unless otherwise agreed directly with the B&B, unless the guest has notified the hotel of a late arrival.

On the day of departure we kindly ask all guests to vacate their rooms by 10.30am (unless a later departure is stated as part of your Booking).  Late check-out after this time can be requested subject to availability and can be charged at an hourly rate at the discretion of Homey.

5. Payment

We accept the following methods of payment:
- credit cards: American Express, MasterCard, Visa.
- Bancontact or iDEAL

At the time of booking a mandatory tourist tax (paid directly to the city council) and a mandatory cost for guarantee, consumption mini-bar and any additional services ordered during stay by the guest, will be charged immediately. This last cost will be refunded within 48 hours after check-out, subject to deduction of the real cost of damaged or missing items, consumptions of the mini-bar and ordered services by the guest, in each case in accordance with the price list to be consulted in advance.

During your stay Homey will calculate the incidentals charged to your room on a daily basis. If the cost of those incidentals exceed the payment of the mandatory fee upon booking, further payment will be requested possibly immediately, failing which we reserve the right to restrict access to your room.

 

 

6. Changes or Cancellation by Homey

Very occasionally we may need to cancel your Booking.  In such circumstances you will be given a full refund but we shall have no further liability to you arising out of such cancellation.  We will, however, use reasonable endeavours to try and re-locate any confirmed Booking cancelled by us to an alternative location similar in standard to Homey.

7. Damage

We reserve the right and you hereby authorise us to charge you for any damage incurred to your room or to Homey during your stay (including without limitation specialist cleaning) or for any items that are missing when you leave.

8. Parking

Homey does not accept responsibility for loss or damage (save as may not be excluded or restricted by applicable law) of items in your car or to your car.

9. Guest Behaviour

Guests are requested to conduct themselves appropriately at all times and to comply with Homey's procedures and/or requests with regard to conduct and respect for the property of Homey, its employees and guests and their health and safety.  Guests are requested not to disrupt the comfort and enjoyment of other guests, the smooth running of Homey, or cause offence to other guests or our members of staff.  In any case we demand our guests to conduct and speak quietly (not reasonably hearable for other guests in their rooms or for the neighbours) as of 22:00 p.m. We reserve the right to refuse accommodation or services or remove you and members of your party from Homey if, in our reasonable opinion, we consider this provision to have been breached. Where this is the case Homey shall have no obligation to refund you for lost accommodation, other services or any other loss or expense incurred.

10. No Smoking

Guests are not permitted to smoke in rooms or public areas except on the terrace. There is a significant room recovery fee for guests who do not comply in order to cover the extensive cost of restoring guest rooms to a smoke-free condition.

11. Pets

No pets are allowed at Homey.

12. Force Majeure

Homey accepts no liability and will not pay any compensation where the performance of its obligations is prevented or affected directly or indirectly by or as a result of force majeure or any circumstances beyond its reasonable control including, but not limited to, flood, earthquake, extreme adverse weather conditions, natural disasters, other acts of God, acts of terrorism, fire or failure of electric power, gas, water, or other utility service, plant machinery, computers, vehicles or any collapse of building structures.

13. Limitation of Liability

Homey will not be responsible for the loss or damage of any property left in Homey

14. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

The Contract and any non-contractual obligations arising in connection with it are governed by Belgian law.

The Belgian courts have exclusive jurisdiction to determine any dispute arising in connection with the Contract, including disputes relating to any non-contractual obligations.

Each party irrevocably waives any objection which it may now or later have to proceedings being brought in the Belgian courts (on the grounds that the Belgian courts are not a convenient forum or otherwise).

15. Web Site Information

While all reasonable efforts have been taken to ensure the accuracy of information on the Websites, Homey does not accept responsibility for errors or omissions and reserve the right to amend, cancel or vary any of the arrangements featured on the Websites without notice. Please note that all photos on the Website are informative and not binding and may be subject to change without prior notice. We will however do or best to keep all information on the Website as up to date as possible.

The content of the Websites is the copyright of Homey, and may not be copied, reproduced, published, distributed or amended for any other purpose without our prior written consent.

Trade marks used on the Websites are the property of the respective owners. Hyperlinks to third party websites are provided for your convenience. We cannot accept responsibility for the content or use of third party sites.

Privacy policy

We process information about you in accordance with the Belgian and EU laws on data privacy and the below mentioned privacy policy.

By using the homey-kortrijk.be website (the 'Website'), you consent to the processing of your personal data and you warrant that all data provided by you is accurate.

Upon visiting the Website, certain anonymous information may be recorded.
